What is included in lesson fees?
Our 9-Lesson System and Monthly Payments:
At Ovie-Vibz, we operate on a unique 9-lesson system per quarter with monthly instalments to ensure flexibility and fairness. Each monthly instalment, covering 3 lessons, isn’t confined to a specific month; some months may feature 5 lessons, while others may have only 1. To guarantee transparency and value for our students, each student signs an attendance list weekly. This system allows us to track the number of attended lessons and ensures you only pay for the lessons you receive.
NB! Please note that we require 24 hour notice if a scheduled lesson cannot be attended, it will be marked as one of the 9 lessons if no notice is given.
Yearly Lesson Distribution:
For payments spanning from January to December, students are entitled to a total of 36 lessons throughout the year. This distribution is structured as follows:
Before the end of March: Lessons 1 – 9
Before the end of June: Lessons 10 – 18
Before the end of September: Lessons 19 – 27
Before the end of December: Lessons 28 – 36
Additional Benefits:
- Yearly progress reports to track and celebrate your musical development.
- Presence of our dedicated teachers at exams, rehearsals, recordings, and concerts, ensuring comprehensive support throughout your musical journey.
At Ovie-Vibz, we prioritize transparency, consistency, and excellence in providing a musical education tailored to each student’s needs.
Examinations & Progress Reports
- External exams through Rockschool (RSL awards), Trinity, Royal Schools (ABRSM), and Unisa.
- Internal exams for progress evaluation.
- Progress reports once a year for students not opting for formal exams.

Musical Showcase Experiences at Ovie-Vibz Music School:
Recitals
As the fourth term unfolds, we present recitals on three weeknights and one Saturday, creating an intimate house concert experience for a maximum of 10 students per session. This informal setting allows students to showcase their musical talents in front of a small audience, comprising family and peers. Recitals provide an ideal platform for first-time performers and those not yet comfortable with larger stages. Additionally, they offer seasoned students the chance to experiment with new songs or genres. Participation and attendance at recitals are fee-free, with families only asked to bring some refreshments to enhance the communal experience.
There are no fixed fees involved in participation or attendance of recitals. Families are only requested to bring some refreshments.
The gig
(Performing with a “Live” professional band)
For many students “The Gig” stands out as the pinnacle of their musical year. Our unique approach involves assembling session musicians to form a band, allowing participating students to step into the shoes of relevant band members for their chosen song. Students can be rocking out with a full band including instruments like electric guitar, keyboard, drums & bass guitar, or opting for a more classical experience with a small chamber orchestra, featuring instruments like flute, piano, violin, cello, saxophone, and more. The professionalism of our band members does incur fees, offering students a valuable experience in working with seasoned musicians.
Concert for a Cause (C4C)
(With a Recording option)
Immerse yourself in the heart of musical expression with our Concert for a Cause (C4C) experience. Every interested student gets the opportunity to step into the recording studio during January and February, creating a personalized song.
We capture this musical journey through video recordings, which, with your permission, are showcased on our YouTube and Facebook pages. The grand culmination occurs at the concert, where students grace the stage with a live performance of their recorded song.
