Lerina is a seasoned music educator and entrepreneur with a lifelong commitment to captivating audiences. She holds a Licentiate from SDCSA, a BA Degree from the University of Pretoria, and multiple certifications, including a Level 6 Teachers Licentiate (Rockschool) and a Voice Movement Therapy Practitioner qualification (IAVMT).

She is currently pursuing her MA in Vocal Pedagogy, further deepening her expertise in vocal education.

Lerina’s teaching journey includes experience at London-based schools, CHIMS, and leading the Music Department at Pretoria-East Primary. In 2005, she founded Vibrience Music Notes, offering individual instruction in vocals and guitar. In 2016, she expanded her impact by launching Ovie-Vibz, a thriving music school that now employs 16 teachers.

Her unique blend of educational excellence and entrepreneurial vision has established her as a distinguished figure in music instruction.

Mareli has been passionate about music from a young age and joined a youth orchestra at 16, where she discovered her dream of building a career in music. She studied flute under Prof. John Hinch at the University of Pretoria and began teaching during her second year of studies.

She plays permanently with the Pretoria Symphony Orchestra (PSO) as second flute and has performed with the Johannesburg Symphony, Gauteng Philharmonic, Pretoria Youth Philharmonic, and East Rand Youth Orchestras, as well as for various ad hoc orchestral projects. Together with her husband, she performs as part of the guitar and flute duo “Twenty Fingers” at special events.

Mareli has been a Music as a subject teacher at Ovie-Vibz for 4 years, where she teaches flute, piano, and music theory. She strongly believes that music has a powerful impact on a child’s developing brain and loves inspiring students through her teaching.

For Martie, music and education are not merely work — they are her true passions. She began her musical journey at the age of nine and quickly knew she wanted to pursue it as a career. After completing her B.Mus (Ed) at Stellenbosch University, Martie built a dedicated teaching career, working both as a private music teacher and in various school teaching posts.

She holds UNISA Grade 8 Theory of Music and Grade 8 Pianoforte, is an accredited UNISA candidate teacher, and has guided several students to a place on the Roll of Merit.

Throughout her career, Martie has been a church organist and has accompanied many instrumentalists, vocalists, and choirs — both children and adults — in examinations and performances. She has also been actively involved in organising the Noorderkruin Arts Festival (Music) for the past 20 years.

Her life motto: “Without music, life will B-flat!”

Reti obtained her BA Ed Mus and a Diploma in Music Individual Education. She specialises in Piano (Classical and Contemporary), Keyboard, Guitar, and Recorder. She is also the creator of an early music development programme based on Kobus Neethling’s Whole Brain Model.

She currently offers music development classes at Babbelbekkies Nursery Campus and Magalieskruin Primary School, and is the accompanist for the Liedjie Loeries (2023) and choir conductor for the Nagtegallies Senior Choir (2024).

Reti has extensive experience in music education, including four years at Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool, where she taught music as a subject (Grades 8–12) as well as piano and church organ. She is accredited with UNISA and other examination boards and has received several UNISA awards for outstanding teaching in music theory.

Her goal is to cultivate a love of music in every learner and to help each student develop their full musical potential.

Franzelle studied Acting at the Method Actor’s Training Centre (UP) and is a classically trained vocalist. She has received numerous awards, including being named winner in all categories at the Centurion and Pretoria Eisteddfods and Centurion’s Most Promising Adult Singer (2006). At the South African Talent Championships (SATCH), she earned four silver medals in 2008 and three gold medals in 2009.

With over a decade of experience, Franzelle spent six years coaching vocals at Cornwall Hill College, Rustenburg, and Lichtenburg, where she also wrote, directed, choreographed, and coached Lichtenburg High School’s own production of High School Musical. In 2010, she joined Vibrience Music Notes as a vocal and performance coach.

Franzelle achieved her Vocal Grade 8 (Rockschool) with Merit and went on to perform professionally, opening for some of South Africa’s top artists. In 2018, she received two gold medals at Talent Africa Nationals and was invited to represent South Africa in New York.

She holds a B.Ed degree from Aros and currently teaches music at Laerskool Danie Malan, continuing to inspire young singers to find their voice and shine on stage.

Juretha Swanepoel is a professional musician who freelances with orchestras across South Africa. She is passionate about music performance and brings a wealth of stage and ensemble experience to her teaching.

With a deep love for string instruments, Juretha believes in nurturing both technical skill and musical expression. She enjoys creating a supportive learning environment where students can grow in confidence, develop their artistry, and discover the joy of performing.

San-Mari grew up surrounded by music and completed her UNISA piano examinations during her school years. In 2005, she obtained her BA Mus (NWU) with vocals as her main instrument. After completing the Kindermusik Educators Training through Kindermusik University, she spent over a decade teaching the programme, focusing on early childhood development through music education.

She joined the Vibrience Music Notes teacher corps and, in 2017, was part of the founding team of the Ovie-Vibz Music Centre at Overkruin High School, where she continues to teach. San-Mari recently expanded her skillset to include choir conducting and completed The Australian Kodály Certificate for Primary Education (Level 1) at the Cuskelly College of Music, achieving High Distinction in Music Pedagogy.

At Ovie-Vibz, San-Mari focuses mainly on young learners, helping them build a solid musical foundation through group and individual lessons. She co-founded the Vibri-Level Programme for children aged 6–9, introducing them to different instruments, and facilitates the Vibri-Play Programme for ages 4–6.

San-Mari also teaches piano, vocals, and recorder.

Clarize has always had a passion for music, starting at the age of 12 and quickly moving on to songwriting and performing. She has been teaching at Ovie-Vibz for the past 8 years, sharing her love for contemporary music with her students.

She holds Rockschool Vocals Grade 8, Acoustic Guitar Grade 5, and Music Theory Grade 6. Along with these certifications, she brings the real-world experience of a performing artist to her teaching.

Clarize has been part of the Ovie-Vibz band for 6 years, serving as band director for the past 4 years. As both a performer and songwriter, she has participated in numerous competitions, often walking away with category wins and top awards.

Lieandri developed a passion for entertaining at the age of eight and loves to perform and engage audiences whenever the opportunity arises. She completed her Vocals Grade 8 (Rockschool) with Merit and is her B.Ed Intermediate Degree at Aros. She is part of the Ovie-Vibz team as a dedicated vocal coach.

Her performance highlights include joining Nedine Blom as a backing vocalist and appearing in the Supercool vir Jesus music video. Lieandri has received multiple awards and accolades, including School Junior and Senior Idol, school colours and honours for Lead Female in the Centurion School Choir, and a National Qualification at Talent Africa. She also earned 3 gold, 9 silver, and 3 bronze SATCH medals, and was named Vibrience Best Senior Vocalist (2016).

In addition to performing, Lieandri has released three YouTube singles, reflecting her passion for contemporary music and performance.

Enrique started playing piano at the age of seven, learning to play by ear before beginning formal music theory lessons at eleven. In 2015, he completed UNISA Music Theory Grades 1 and 2, and in 2017 achieved Grade 3 Theory and Practical with distinction. He later expanded his musical skills to include guitar, bass, drums and violin.

He has performed at special events, including a wedding and the Zutari Awards Night, and studied Sound Engineering and Media Music Composition at Emendy Multimedia Institute, which included Music Ear Training and Modern Music Theory.

Enrique began teaching piano in 2021 and joined Ovie-Vibz at Overkruin High School in 2023 as a piano teacher. In his free time, he enjoys composing orchestral music and exploring various genres through improvisation and instrumental practice.

Growing up in a very musical family, Antru began classical piano training from a young age, studying under Prof. Ella Fourie, Hannelie van Sitterdt, and Louis van Loggerenberg.

Her love for singing led her to join the Jacaranda Children’s Choir, where she won numerous national and international awards and had the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as Christa Steyn, Mimi Coertse, and Eleganza. Recently, she joined a female ensemble choir under the direction of Riekie van Aswegen, performing with the award-winning male ensemble group Singfonix.

With years of experience, Antru understands the importance of meeting each student’s unique needs to nurture their full musical potential.

Abigail began playing the violin at the age of three and later added piano to her musical studies. She has a deep love for orchestral playing and performed with the Pretoria High School for Girls orchestra for three years. She has completed ABRSM Violin Grade 8 and is currently working toward ABRSM Music Theory Grade 6. Abigail started teaching violin in 2021.

Passionate about music education from a young age, Abigail enjoys finding creative ways to make learning the violin enjoyable. She has a special interest in the Kodály method and has completed both the Colourstrings Introductory Kindergarten Course and Colourstrings Phase 1 Course.

Her goal is to help learners become musically literate and to experience the joy of making music from an early age.

Sakkie started singing before he could walk and gathered friends for little performances as soon as he got his first toy guitar. His musical journey grew from piano lessons in primary school to learning guitar and performing in a regional youth choir, later joining Tuks Camerata.

In 2006, he took guitar lessons at Vibrience Music Notes, and in 2008 completed a course in songwriting, music production, and recording with Johan Kelber. He owned and ran a recording studio for five years and has performed at churches, conferences, and events throughout his life.

Sakkie completed the foundational coursework in Voice Movement Therapy in 2024 and is currently working toward the full qualification.

Hanke grew up in a vibrant, musical family where music was woven into daily life. From the age of two, she was already “conducting” the church choir and loved singing when her mother accompanied her on the organ. Her passion for music blossomed early and has remained a defining part of her life.

She began singing in choirs at the age of seven and has since performed with several ensembles. During her time with the National Choir Academy and Gloria Deo Choir, she had the opportunity to perform alongside renowned artist Chris Chameleon. At ten years old, she began formal singing lessons and participated in numerous Eisteddfods, winning the Classical Singing Division in 2013 and performing at the prize winners’ concert. Throughout her school years, she also performed solo pieces at revues, in choirs, and at church events.

At sixteen, Hanke began vocal training with Suzette Wilkens and Prof. Warner Nel, focusing on both classical and contemporary styles. She completed her UNISA Grade 7 practical singing exam at the age of 18.

Hanke believes in a holistic approach to teaching music, tailoring each lesson to meet the unique needs of her students. Her goal is to inspire them to discover their own voices, build confidence, and share their music with the world.

Mia is a passionate musician who has been playing guitar since the age of 14, developing a deep love for music. For the past four years, she has been part of Ovie-Vibz, where she has honed her skills through dedicated practice, live performances, and collaboration.

She enjoys exploring a wide range of styles and techniques, which has shaped her into a versatile and expressive guitarist. Mia thrives in both group and solo settings, bringing energy, discipline, and creativity to every musical project.
